REVIEW: Packwraps: A Tobacco-free Blunt Wrap

Packwraps are a Tobacco-free blunt wrap solution that is available in multiple flavors.

Each pack of wraps comes with a glass filter, a makeshift rolling tray and a little instruction guide on how to roll these papers. They carry a variety of flavors that are all “strain-specific terpene infused flavoring to mimic your favorite tobacco taste” which we have to say the flavor on these wraps are fantastic. My personal favorite flavors were the natural and the sweet. These two flavors in particular really have a premium tobacco taste with ZERO tobacco. As a longtime blunt smoker myself I was extremely surprised by the taste and smoothness of the first pull I took off of one of these wraps.

We do recommend you give yourself some time when attempting to roll one of these for the first time as it can be a bit tricky to figure out at first. As great as these papers taste they're not the easiest to roll if it’s your first time rolling a blunt. Now that I have made quite a few of these my tips are as follows.



The Zed Guide to Rolling Packwraps

1. When grinding your flower its important to make sure it is not too fine, you want it to have some "chunkyness" to it so that it has the ability to fluff back out into the wrap.

2. When filling the packing tube be sure to completely fill the tube, but if you pack too much into it, again you will have trouble with your material re-expanding into the wrap. There is a certain magic touch to figuring out the perfect amount to fill the tube with, but after a few tries it should be more evident to you how loose/tight to pack it.

3. Now that your tube is filled with flower pre-lick/pre-dampen the wrap on the inside where the tip goes(so the tip can stick) and on the inside of the edge of the wrap.

4. Place the wrap, prefilled tube, and tip on a flat table as displayed on the instruction on the inside of your wraps package. Use the Table to help you roll the bunt paper, keeping the wrap as tight as possible around the prefilled tube as your roll up the tube on the table. Finish with a lick on the outside and you are good to go!


Overall, these are fantastic wraps that burn slow and have excellent flavor, the glass tip help smooth the smoke considerably and I was suprised with how big of a cloud I could pull out of these wraps without realizing how big the hit was. VERY SMOOTH.

This creative alternative to a tobacco wrap is well thought out and executed very well, our only criticisms of these wraps are they are not designed for beginners and you do need a bit of practice to get a perfect wrap rolled. The only other point we could make is that the “rolling tray” really isn't that large and you would be better off using your own. Glad they included something though for those of us on the go it is definitely better than not having anything.

UPDATE: On there newest iteration of the packwraps they have added an adhesive you can see on the edge of the wrap on the image to the right. We have yet to receive our newest order from them but we assume this helps make the wraps a bit easier to wrap. They have also added a ton of new strain themed flavors we are very excited for the next batch to arrive!
